Wongaburra was created through the care and generosity of the Beaudesert community.
A community vision
More than half a century ago, local people recognised the need to support older members of the community.
On 29 October 1965, the Beaudesert Chamber of Commerce proposed the development of a home for aged people.
The idea gained strong local support, and the building was officially opened by Dame Annabel Rankin on 22 August 1970.
Continuing the legacy
Since then, Wongaburra has continued to grow and evolve.
Today, Wongaburra supports older people through residential aged care and home care services, while staying connected to the same community values that shaped its beginning.
